Innovative Suit Therapy & Fitness is one of the few out-patient facilities in Louisiana to offer the Intensive Training Method, the TheraSuit® and the Universal Exercise Unit.
Treatment is offered for pediatric and adult patients with neurological disorders including:

Intensive Training Method:
Intense therapy sessions of 3-4 hours a day for 5 days a week for 3 weeks.This intense level of therapy re-trains the neurological and motor systems to develop increased strength and maximize a patient’s functional skills.
The intensive method is used in conjunction with the Universal Exercise Unit with pulleys, weights and elastic cords as well as the TheraSuit®.
TheraSuit®
The TheraSuit® was developed by Richard and Isabella Koscielny (Physical Therapists). It is a soft dynamic proprioceptive orthotic. The TheraSuit® allows for restoration of proper postural alignment and correct patterns of movement through a system of elastic rubber bands. As a patient progresses, the bands are tightened and provide resistance, which ultimately leads to increased strength.
The Universal Exercise Unit
The exercise cage or unit is a unique piece of equipment that is used for strengthening muscles with a pulley system and weights. It can also be used with elastic cords to help a patient stand while allowing movement of the body and facilitation of balance. The Universal Exercise Unit can be used for vestibular activities such as “flying” and swing ing. It is used all over Europe and most importantly helps the patient to gain balance, coordination and overall strength.
